History

Peter Matyšák with his wife, Katarína, and their son and daughter, Marek and Kristína, represent a true family firm, which has has been a significant addition to the number of Slovak wine producers since 1989.

Their own financial initiative, family vinticulture traditions, and hard, honest work have been the assets that have ranked the Matyšák firm among the most distinguished wine producers in the Slovak Republic in the past few years.

The firm of Matyšák ranks among seven unofficial winery „princes“ who are the quality wine market leaders in Slovakia. The name Matyšák can be found in the personal encyclopedia Who´s Who in the Slovak Republic, second edition. The firm aims through all their activities at raising the level of wine culture in Slovakia, and it also represents a model of the abilities of our people in this field abroad.

The firm´s credo on the domestic and European market is:
"QUALITY IS THE ONLY MEANS TO GAIN AND MAINTAIN THE TRUST OF DOMESTIC AND FORIEGN CLIENTS NOW AND IN THE FUTURE".

Year 2003

The new enterprise with its latest modern production technology, having been built from scratch, started its production in August 2003. Its present-day capacity is 1.5 million litres. The initial production of fifty thousand litres belongs to the past.

Year 2005

We opened the stylish, new eighty-bed Hotel Matyšák in Pražská street, Bratislava. Its main feature is the eighty-seat wine restaurant offering national cuisine.

This restaurant is directly adjacent to a forty-meter long archive wine cellar (built in 1904) capable of storing forty-five thousand bottles of archive wines that we have produced since 1994.

Another typical wine restaurant Vinum Galéria Bozen, seating 150 guests, was opened in Pezinok, in the family´s own 300-year old vintner´s house in Holuby Street (Holubyho ulica).

Year 2006

Vino Matyšák has expanded the wine processing plant (the press and the cooling tanks) and storage capacity, which will enable careful processing of grapes and the subsequent filtering and clarification of the must.
To enhance the quality of the maturation of red wine, we are preparing the construction of stylish new premises for red wines to mature in wooden barrels and barrico casks.
